Flanges are components used to connect shafts and pipe ends. They are also used on equipment inlets and outlets, connecting two pieces of equipment, 

such as reducer flanges. A flange connection, or flange joint, is a removable connection consisting of a flange, a gasket, and bolts, forming a combined 

sealing structure. A pipe flange is used for piping in piping installations. On equipment, it refers to the inlet and outlet flanges. The flanges have holes, 

and bolts secure the two flanges together.
